About 倉頡練習簿 (Cangjie Workbook)

倉頡練習簿 (Cangjie Workbook) helps you learn the Cangjie (倉頡) input method: a way to type Chinese characters quickly and, along the way, remember them better.

Learn by doing, not by rote memorization

Cangjie has a reputation for being hard to learn, and most people give up. The usual path means reading through reference books or rote-memorizing code tables. We take a different approach: guided lessons and steady practice. You don't have to spend hours studying theory. Work through the practice and you gradually learn.

How you learn

The lessons build up in a natural order:

  1. First, learn where the Cangjie codes sit on the keyboard.
  2. Then, learn what each code represents.
  3. Next, learn the Cangjie way of decomposing characters into codes.
  4. Finally, work through the common-character lists and practice with real essays.

Cangjie versions

The lessons currently teach Cangjie version 5 (v5). Support for version 3 (v3) is planned for the future.
